DESCRIPTION:David Larson and Stephen Pace\n\nThe MAINE MASTERS PROJECT is a
 n award-winning video series sponsored by the Union of Maine Visual Artist
 s\, a not-for-profit educational organization established in 1975. The Mai
 ne Masters Project was launched in 1999 and has produced a series of compe
 lling profiles of some of Maine’s most distinguished and often less reco
 gnized visual artists who articulate the importance of art-making. There a
 re currently thirteen completed DVDs (see Artist DVDs) with seven more in 
 production.\n\nThe purpose of the series is to support a vital contemporar
 y artistic community and to inspire all people to create art and to recogn
 ize the value of art. Through our outreach program (seeUpcoming Events) 
 – through series screenings\, broadcasts\, and presentations in communit
 y libraries\, museums\, colleges\, and art centers – we are successfully
  reaching adults. Through our curriculum guide series (seeCurriculum Guide
 s) that has now been launched with the first curriculum guide on painter S
 tephen Pace\, we are beginning to reach a younger audience of high school
