DESCRIPTION:Robert Hamilton and David Driskell\n\nThe MAINE MASTERS PROJECT
  is an award-winning video series sponsored by the Union of Maine Visual A
 rtists\, a not-for-profit educational organization established in 1975. Th
 e Maine Masters Project was launched in 1999 and has produced a series of 
 compelling profiles of some of Maine’s most distinguished and often less
  recognized visual artists who articulate the importance of art-making. Th
 ere are currently thirteen completed DVDs (see Artist DVDs) with seven mor
 e in production.\n\nThe purpose of the series is to support a vital contem
 porary artistic community and to inspire all people to create art and to r
 ecognize the value of art. Through our outreach program (see Upcoming Even
 ts) – through series screenings\, broadcasts\, and presentations in comm
 unity libraries\, museums\, colleges\, and art centers – we are successf
 ully reaching adults. Through our curriculum guide series (seeCurriculum G
 uides) that has now been launched with the first curriculum guide on paint
 er Stephen Pace\, we are beginning to reach a younger audience of high sch
