Captain LeCain Smith will host a showing of his inspirational documentary film Far Away, at the Blue Hill Public Library on Thursday, January 17th at 6:30 PM. The film showcases the adventures filmed during from his six-year sailing voyage around the world on the good ship Perelandra, his custom-designed, forty-four foot ketch.
The film is filled with beautiful scenery, but according to Smith, “The most wonderful encounters are with the generous and warm-hearted people who live on the tiny specks of land dotted across the wide Pacific.” The captain will be on hand for further discussion and to answer questions. Copies of the film and his other books will be available for sale, and light refreshments will be served.
This event is sponsored by the library, there is no change and everyone is welcome. For more information call the library at 374-5515.
