SUMMARY:Exploring Resilience in the Time of COVID-19 Webinar
DESCRIPTION:Building Skills to Cope with Adversity\n\nHave you ever wondere
d why some people are able to stay calm in a crisis while others appear to
fall apart?\n\nThose who stay calm in the face of a disaster have what ps
ychologists call resilience. Resilience means being able to adjust and ada
pt to life’s setbacks and adversity. Along with handling the stresses of
everyday life\, people with a higher degree of emotional resilience are b
etter able to “roll with the punches” and rebuild their lives after a
crisis.\n\nYes\, we are categorizing this epidemic as a crisis.\n\nFor man
y of us\, coping with the challenges presented by Covid-19 has been diffic
ult. We talk regularly with people dealing with anxiety\, sleeplessness\,
loneliness\, boredom\, financial worries\, productivity problems and fear
about what the future holds.\n\nThe rippling effects of Covid-19 have intr
oduced changes that many of us never imagined possible in our lifetime. Th
ese changes may yet bring unrecognized opportunities for our future which
will be positive. In the meantime\, the same changes go hand-in-hand with
grieving what has been lost.\n\nResilience won’t make your problems disa
ppear.\n\nWhat it will do is give you the ability to carry on and keep fun
ctioning. Fortunately\, people can learn to become resilient. Like a muscl
e that grows stronger with regular exercise\, resilience is built on a set
of skills that you can learn about\, practice and develop over time.\n\nW
hat could developing your resilience do for you?\n\nJoin us at noon on Jun
e 4th for a Zoom presentation focused on exploring resilience. Learn about
skills that will help you grow and develop your ability to adjust\, adapt
and cope with life’s current and future challenges. Leave with a practi
cal set of resilience-building tips you can immediately start to build int
o your everyday routines of life.\n\nWe look forward to talking with you o
n June 4th. In the meantime\, take care and be well.\n\nRegister to reserv
