Carrie Graham from the College of the Atlantic Dorr Museum will do a program for kids at the Blue Hill Public Library on Tuesday, November 13th at 3:30 PM called “Bones, Baleen and Whale Ecology.” Participants will assemble the skeleton of a 17-foot minke whale and learn about the behavior and anatomy of whales while looking at baleen, krill and other marine mammal artifacts.
This program is co-sponsored by the library and Explore Outdoors! – a collaboration between Blue Hill Heritage Trust, Downeast Audubon and Great Pond Mountain Conservation Trust. It is free and all are welcome but registration is required and can be done using the calendar at www.bhpl.net or by calling the library at 374-5515. Kids under 8 years of age must be accompanied by a caregiver at least 12 years of age.
