SUMMARY:"Dear Community" Kids Letters Submission Period
DESCRIPTION:Blue Hill Heritage Trust and the Shaw Institute would like to e
 xtend an invitation to children on the Blue Hill Peninsula to participate 
 in an Earth Day Celebration project we are working on together! This joint
  project is aimed at inspiring local environmental stewardship and has two
  parts designed to encourage children to share their creative voices for E
 arth Day.\n\nThe first part (in partnership with the Weekly Packet* and th
 e highlight of the project) is a special community-submission piece we're 
 calling "Dear Community" Kids Letters. This initiative encourages children
  to write letters or create drawings expressing their commitment to the Ea
 rth and their local community. Submissions can be dropped off at the Shaw 
 Institute’s office Thursday-Saturday 10:00 am to 4:00 pm or emailed to b
 eth@bluehillheritagetrust.org by no later than April 10th. (*A sample of s
 ubmissions will be published in a special feature in the Weekly Packet in 
 April.) All letters and drawings will be on display in the Shaw Institute 
 lobby until June 30th.\n\nThe second part of the project is a FREE event d
 esigned for all ages\, which will take place on Saturday\, April 11\, 2026
 \, from 10:30 am to 1:00 pm at the Shaw Institute’s Environmental Educat
 ion Center (EEC) at 55 Main Street\, Blue Hill\, ME. This event will featu
 re a variety of engaging\, hands-on activities\, including Earth Day mosai
 cs\, seed bombs\, touch tank exploration\, and more! Both BHHT and Shaw in
 stitute will have staff on hand to run the activities and meet up with com
 munity members.\nWe can't wait to see everyone's letters and drawings!\n\n
