SUMMARY:Danny Fisher-Lochhead Large Ensemble
DESCRIPTION:The Danny Fisher-Lochhead Large Ensemble was born in Brooklyn\,
  NY in 2013 with a much different cast of characters\, except for the stal
 wart Ross Gallagher who has held it down in every version of this band. Wh
 en Danny moved to Downeast Maine in 2015 seeking a new logic to his life a
 nd musical pursuits\, he started to slowly lay the groundwork and musical 
 will to re-assemble this project. In 2023 this version of the group came i
 nto being\, and in 2025 they released their album World of Difference on F
 ishkill Records. This band is made up of some of the most exciting improvi
 sing musicians in the state\, and the music they make together\, while it 
 bears the markings of its roots in the Jazz tradition\, is distinctly on i
 ts own terrain. The result is alive\, richly textured\, rhythmically groun
 ded and complex\, ecstatic\, and deeply connected to the body and the emot
 ions. No previous expertise required.
