Our February potluck was such a success, we decided to do it again! Join us for a Community Potluck Picnic on Saturday, July 20th, 4:30, at the beautiful Carding Brook Farm (4 Carlton Drive, Brooklin). The Brooklin Climate Response Committee and the Brooklin Food Corps invite you to this celebration of local food, with music from the Bagaduce Northern New England Ensemble.

Bring a dish to share made from the beautiful summer offerings of our local food producers. Everyone is encouraged to enter a dish in the Local Foods Challenge. Potluck attendees will vote for their favorite dishes. Winners get a prize! Category One: We Love the Blue Hill Peninsula. All produce and proteins from the peninsula. Category Two: Mainly Maine. All produce, proteins and grains from throughout Maine. There are bonus prizes if the winning dishes are purely local, down to the spices.

Check out the Brooklin Food Corps website for local producers and farmers markets. Take advantage of FarmDrop’s deliveries throughout the area. The Blue Hill Coop and Hannaford carry Maine products, including a good selection of Maine Grains.

Bring a list of the local producers used in your dish. Bring your own picnic blanket or chairs, plates, cups and utensils. Drinks will provided at the event.

For more information contact Corrinne Collett: corrinneacollett@gmail.com. Rain date, July 21.
