DESCRIPTION:Crime fiction is more popular than ever. From the police proced
 ural to the political thriller\, from cozy crime to psychological thriller
 \, crime novels are consistently at the top of best seller lists. Literary
  writings throughout the ages demonstrate that mysteries to be solved\, th
 emes of retribution and justice explored\, or the simple pleasure of puzzl
 ing out “who did it\,” have long fascinated the human mind.\n\nIn this
  colloquy we will explore what goes into crafting a good crime novel by do
 ing a survey of its history and genres\, followed by discussions of four c
 rime novels of different genres. Conversation will center on analysis of n
 arrative voice and structure.\n\nFacilitator Anne Manson has a Masters Deg
 ree in Crime and Thriller Writing from Cambridge University and is also a
