DESCRIPTION:Retired local M.D. Susan Ostertag and retired clinical psycholo
 gist Barbara Sinclair will facilitate a discussion exploring people’s go
 als\, values\, and options for future healthcare decisions at the Blue Hil
 l Public Library on two Wednesdays\, May 2nd and 9th from 4:00 to 6:00 PM.
  The program is free of charge but space is limited to 15 participants so 
 registration is required and can be done online at www.bhpl.net or by call
 ing the library at 374-5515.\n\nAs people age\, they are often presented w
 ith increasingly complex healthcare decisions. Healthy Peninsula’s “Ch
 oices That Matter” campaign aims to help people explore how to sustain t
 he best possible quality of life while maintaining control over healthcare
  decisions which safeguard patients’ values. Participants in this progra
 m will discuss advanced care planning and explore views\, attitudes and op
 tions for medical and comfort care during the latter part of life or when 
 confronted with a serious illness.\n\nReal-life scenarios will be used to 
 generate lively\, and interesting discussions. This workshop is appropriat
 e for individuals thinking about their own healthcare\, as well as that of
  loved ones they may be assisting. This event is sponsored by the library
