DESCRIPTION:Retired local M.D. Susan Ostertag and retired clinical psycholo
 gist Barbara Sinclair will facilitate a discussion exploring people’s go
 als\, values and options for future healthcare decisions at the Blue Hill 
 Public Library on two Wednesdays\, September 5th and 12th from 4:00 to 5:3
 0 PM. The program is free of charge but space is limited to 10 participant
 s so registration is required and can be done online at www.bhpl.net or by
  calling the library at 374-5515.\n\nAs people age\, they are often presen
 ted with increasingly complex healthcare decisions. Healthy Peninsula’s 
 “Choices That Matter” campaign aims to help people explore how to sust
 ain the best possible quality of life while maintaining control over healt
 hcare decisions which safeguard patients’ values. Participants in this p
 rogram will discuss advanced care planning and explore views\, attitudes a
 nd options for medical and comfort care during the latter part of life or 
 when confronted with a serious illness.\n\nReal-life scenarios will be use
 d to generate lively\, and interesting discussions. This workshop is appro
 priate for individuals thinking about their own healthcare\, as well as th
 at of loved ones they may be assisting. This event is sponsored by the lib
