 se is Chanting Through the Lunar Month! Thank you to those who came to the
  Introductory course last week.\n\nYou can sign up by going on our website
  and clicking Classes &amp\; Ensembles under the Education tab.\n\nKirtan 
 chanting is a sacred practice in Indian culture that serves to free your s
 pirit and bring inner peace through music. Kirtan in Sanskrit means “Nar
 rating” or “Describing”. The mantras are sung in Sanskrit and are us
 ually in the form of a call-and-response\, with a leader singing a phrase 
 and the audience singing it back. It doesn’t matter your vocal strength 
 or abilities\, the point is to sing from the heart. Instruments such as th
 e harmonium\, tablas\, flute\, and various string and percussion instrumen
 ts are used as accompaniment. Shepsi will bring a Harmonium and Tambura to
  the event\, accompanied by special guests on violin and guitar.
