DESCRIPTION:CELEBRATE SPRING AND FISH PASSAGE\n\nCome to the Town Landing a
 t Pierce’s Pond in Penobscot between 11am – 3pm on June 2\, 2018. Join
  the Town of Penobscot\, Town of Penobscot Alewife Committee\, Maine Coast
  Heritage Trust and Blue Hill Heritage Trust for a celebration of two key 
 first steps in the fish passage restoration efforts in the Bagaduce River 
 Watershed – the new fishways at Pierce’s Pond and Wight’s Pond.\n\nS
 everal project partners will be on site\, including lead project funders T
 he Nature Conservancy and NOAA. Come watch the new fish passage in action\
 , learn about future plans and projects\, and (we hope) get up close and p
 ersonal with hundreds of alewives!\n\nWe'll have lots of free food and dar
 ing visitors can try a smoked alewife – we’ll have an alewife smoker o
 n site with Downeast Salmon Federation!\n\nThere will be activities fun fo
 r all ages. Plus\, visitors will get a free Bagaduce Alewife bumper sticke
 r!\n\nThere will be other events happening that afternoon in the region to
  showcase other fish passageway happenings in the watershed\, both complet
 ed and in the works.\n\n• 1-2pm Visit the other new fishway at Wight’s
