The Castine Yacht Club annually sponsors the Castine Classic Yacht Race from Castine to Camden. The race will take place on August 4 this year. This 19.NM race will be the first of three day races in conjunction with the Camden Classic Yacht Race to Brookin on August 5 and the Eggemoggin Reach Regatta taking place on August 6 which is expected to attract a magnificent fleet of Classic and Spirit of Tradition yachts, according to David Bicks, chairman of he Castine events. The race is open to all mono hull Classic and Spirit of Tradition yachts at least 28’ LOA with a valid CRF rating certificate. Each yacht must tow a proper dinghy. These three races epitomize the best of sportsmanship and safe sailing. They are “fun” races of old, priceless, classic yachts, many of which do not regularly race competitively.
