The Friends of the Blue Hill Public Library’s second-Thursday-of-the-month film series will continue on June 14th at 7:00 PM with the 1983 comedy/drama, Local Hero. This will be the last film until next fall. The film is written and directed by Bill Forsyth and stars Peter Riegert, Denis Lawson, Fulton Mackay, and Burt Lancaster. Described as a “delightfully observed comedy,” and a good film for the whole family, Local Hero is about an American oil company representative who is sent to the fictional Scottish village of Ferness to purchase the town and surrounding property for his company.

All films are shown free of charge on the library’s “pretty big” screen in the Howard Room. For more information, call the library (374-5515) or Michael Donahue, 374-5248, Donahue.mg@gmail.com.
