DESCRIPTION:Spring Conservation Lecture Series Celebrating ANP Centennial\n
 \nBlue Hill Heritage Trust and Downeast Audubon as Centennial Partners are
  excited to present their spring conservation lecture series honoring Acad
 ia National Park. Founded in 1916\, the Park has had a monumental impact o
 n our region. This series marks the start of many programs being presented
  in celebration of the Park’s birthday on Mount Desert Island and the Bl
 ue Hill Peninsula.\n\nTuesday\, April 19: Dr. Duane Braun and his wife\, R
 uth\, well known geologists in the area\, lecture will focus on where the 
 region came from\, how Mount Desert Island put itself together and how the
  glaciation sculpted the present landscape around us including the Blue Hi
 ll Peninsula. They are co-authors of the Geologic Guide to Mount Desert Is
 land and Acadia National Park\, which will be released in June.\n\nThursda
 y\, April 21: Jack Russell\, co-chair of the Centennial Task Force\, will 
 present how the conservation movement in the early 1900’s came to establ
 ish ANP and how it has impacted the area since. Born on Mount Desert and s
 urvived the fire of 1947\, Jack has been connected to the Island all his l
 ife in many ways.\n\nTuesday\, April 26: Seth Benz\, director of the Bird 
 Ecology Lab at Schoodic Peninsula\, will discuss the wildlife in the Park 
 and give a glimpse into the future specifically to the anticipated changes
  with birdlife. Highly knowledgeable\, Seth engages people of all ages in 
 science and the natural wonders of our world.\n\nAll lectures are free\, o
 pen to the public and will be held at the Blue Hill Public Library with a
