“Blobmania” for Kids and Adults at the Blue Hill Public Library

Who knew that a Blue Hill native, Chuck Collison, worked behind the scenes on the classic 1958 film, The Blob? The public is invited to two “Blobmania” events at the Blue Hill Public Library on Saturday March 17th – a special make-your-own-blob craft for kids of all ages at 2:00 PM, and after a brief introduction by Chuck at 3:00, there will be a screening of the film at 3:30.

Chuck Collison will talk about his experiences as an assistant set designer on the film, which stars Steve McQueen and Aneta Corsaut, complete with backstage photos and personal anecdotes. At 3:30, immediately following Chuck’s introduction which begins at 3:00, we will screen the film in which an alien lifeform consumes everything in its path as it grows and grows. There will be a Q&A session with Chuck afterwards. This event is sponsored by the Blue Hill Public Library. For more information call the library at 374-5515.
