 \, Friday\, July 8\, 5 - 6pm\n'Low Energy' is an exhibition of large-scale
  ink and gouache paintings on Shuen paper\, by artist Kenny Cole\, on view
  in the gallery’s second floor Project Space. Presented are cross-sectio
 nal imaginings of the vast underground salt caverns of the Strategic Petro
 leum Reserve\, rendered as irregular black voids embedded into colorful la
 yers of geologic strata. The 700 million barrel capacity Reserve\, first s
 tarted by the U.S. after the 1973 energy crisis\, is currently releasing o
 il to curb shortages created by the pandemic and the Russian invasion of U
 kraine.
