 eting for an interactive lecture.  Davis’ most recent novel\, Girl of M
 y Dreams\, published in 2015\, is about a young screenwriter coming of ag
 e in the 1930s at the intersection of Hollywood\, the Depression and the C
 ommunist Party. His nonfiction books include If You Came This Way\, nomin
 ated for a Pulitzer Prize\; Where Is Nicaragua? reviewed on the front pag
 e New York Times Book Review and a Book of the Month Club Alternate selec
 tion\; andHometown\, a chronicle of life in a midwestern town\, a Literary
  Guild Alternate Selection\, optioned by Norman Lear for a TV series.\n\n
 His first documentaries were for CBS News where he made the landmark inves
 tigative film The Selling of the Pentagon\, which won the Emmy\, Peabody\
 , Writers Guild\, George Polk\, Ohio State and Saturday Review awards. Hi
 s next film was the Vietnam War documentary Hearts and Minds\, for which h
 e received the Academy Award and France's Prix Sadoul. Subsequent films i
 nclude JACK\, a biography of John F. Kennedy\, which was nominated for tw
 o Emmys and won one\, and the Middletown series of six films made in one 
 American community\, nominated for 10 Emmys and received two\; one of the 
 films in the series\, Seventeen\, won first prize at the Sundance Festiva
